F.A.I.T.H. RIDERS
F.A.I.T.H. Riders is a motorcycle ministry of our church for those who are passionate about sharing their faith in Jesus Christ through Christian fellowship. We are affiliated with the National F.A.I.T.H. Riders which began at First Baptist Church at the Mall in Lakeland, Fl, in 2002. There are now over three hundred and fifty churches in 29 different states (and two in Cuba) with more chapters getting ready to be born across the United States. Our chapter was commissioned Nov. 10, 2007, as the second chapter in Tennessee. As a ministry of our local church, we are uniquely Southern Baptist in belief and doctrine. We are committed to sharing the Gosepl of Jesus Christ with everyone we meet in hopes that all will come to repentance and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
We are a ministry, not a riding club. We exist primarily for the purpose of using our interest in motorcycling as a tool to reach people with the Gospel and to fellowship with other believers in Christ. While we do not require membership in our spsonsoring church, we do believe that wearing our F.A.I.T.H. Rider colors and back patch should be backed up with daily living and actions that are pleasing to God. F.A.I.T.H. Riders in our chapter are expected to be faithful and loyal to Jesus Christ above all, representing Him through a Godly lifestyle of obedience to His Word, and to their local church and family. See our Member Commitment.
Since we were organized as a chapter, we have sponsored a number of rides and events for fellowship and outreach. One of our highlights has been participating in the annual Rally to Ridgecrest for our National Rally each Memorial Day or [now] Labor Day Weekend at Black Mountain, NC. We have also been blessed to be instrumental in encouraging the formation of other F.A.I.T.H. Rider chapters in our area, such as Pleasant Heights in Columbia, FBC in Spring Hill, and Thompson Station.
After several years of being inactive as a chapter, we have reactivated our chapter in August of 2018. We currently have about 7 riders actively participating. We support other local chapters in their rides and events. We attended our National Rally at Ridgecrest N.C. on Labor Day weekend 2018. We participated in our State Rally- Light in the Smokys- in September 2018. We participated in our National Daytona Bike Week ministry in March 2019. We plan to participate in our State Buddy Ride on May 18, 2019 in support of our National organization and in honor of our founder, Buddy Newsome. We have also participated in the ministry to Daytona Bike Week in 2019, 2020, and 2022, and at Surgis Bike Week in 2019, 2021.
Our chapter has hosted two Gas Giveway outreach events in 2019 and 2021, at the Runway Market in Mt. Pleasant We offered free gas money for 3 minutes to share the gospel.
